Baker Tilly advises SICK on acquisition of Dutch technology company Accerion, which is thus expanding its portfolio in the field of autonomous mobile robots.

Munich, May 22, 2025 – Baker Tilly Germany and Baker Tilly Netherlands have comprehensively advised the international provider of sensor-based automation solutions SICK on the acquisition of the Dutch tech start-up Accerion on the buy-side – with financial due diligence, tax due diligence, valuation services and SPA support.

The project was led by lead partner Sebastian Hafner. Transaction experts from Baker Tilly Netherlands, Munich tax partner Uwe Roth and Anna Wuschick (Financial DD) completed the international and interdisciplinary Baker Tilly team.

The tech startup Accerion, established in the Netherlands in 2015, specializes in AI-based image processing technologies and offers the world's first industrialized, infrastructure-free localization solution for autonomous mobile robots (AMR). The acquisition further expands SICK's portfolio in the field of autonomous mobile robots and strengthens its position as a leading provider of solutions for industrial automation.

"We are very pleased to have supported SICK in this strategic acquisition. This transaction once again underlines Baker Tilly's international and interdisciplinary expertise," says partner Sebastian Hafner.

With the takeover, Accerion's entire product portfolio as well as the development and sales team will be fully transferred to SICK. Product development will continue at the previous location in Venlo, the Netherlands.
