Baker Tilly Advises the Hengjiu Group on Strategic Partnership with Movex S.p.A.

Baker Tilly, the international advisory and audit firm, advised Hengjiu Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (“Hengjiu”) on a strategic partnership with Movex S.p.A. (“Movex”).  

As part of the strategic partnership, the Hengjiu Group, a leading Chinese manufacturer of chain drives and drive components, is selling shares in its subsidiary Anhui Huangshan Hengjiu Chain Transmission Co., Ltd. (“HS”) to Movex, an Italian manufacturer of chains, modular belts and conveyor technology components for the beverage, food, packaging and automation industries. Hengjiu and Movex have also established a joint venture, Movex China Co., Ltd. 

An international Baker Tilly team led by Dr. Ole Brühl, Director, Corporate/M&A in Hamburg, provided comprehensive legal advice to the Chinese partner HS in connection with this cross-border transaction. In addition to Dr. Ole Brühl, the team comprised Oliver Köster, Partner, Olivia Leu, Manager, both Corporate/M&A in Hamburg, Philip Koch, Manager, M&A/IP in Hamburg, Yan Zhang, Partner and Head of China Desk Legal in Frankfurt, and Yumeng Fu and Lan Zhuo, both Managers in the China Desk in Frankfurt. 

Dr. Ole Brühl had previously advised the client in connection with the acquisition of a company in Germany. 

The strategic partnership between Hengjiu and Movex is aimed at jointly expanding complete solutions for the beverage, food, packaging, automation and logistics industries.  The strategic partnership was formally signed on 25 June 2026 in Jixi, Anhui Province.
