Baker Tilly expands ESG consulting in banking with Simone Yuson

New partner joined on July 1 with a focus on sustainable finance in regulation and risk management, strengthening the ESG division.

The international consulting and auditing firm Baker Tilly has gained Simone Yuson as a new partner in the Sustainable Finance division as of July 1, 2025. The 32-year-old is joining from the auditing and consulting firm EY and will be responsible for leading and developing ESG consulting activities in Baker Tilly’s Financial Services sector.

With Yuson, a five-person team has started in the ESG department, complementing the consulting services offered to banks and financial service providers – particularly in the implementation of regulatory sustainability requirements in reporting and risk management.

“We are seeing growing demand for audit and advisory services in the financial services sector. Simone Yuson contributes many years of experience and comprehensive expertise in sustainable finance. With her joining our financial services team, we are gaining a highly qualified colleague for ESG issues with a focus on the needs of our clients in the banking sector,” says Prof. Dr. Thomas Edenhofer, Managing Partner at Baker Tilly.

“I am very much looking forward to continuously developing tailor-made and practical ESG solutions at Baker Tilly and offering our clients security in the implementation of regulatory requirements,” says Yuson.

Yuson most recently held a senior position as Director at EY, where she was responsible for ESG in the financial services sector. Her work focused on topics such as CSRD, CRR II ESG disclosure, EU taxonomy, and the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act. During her long career, she has worked at a bank and several international consulting firms. Her focus was on projects related to regulation and sustainability in the financial sector, as well as the audit of sustainability aspects in the context of sustainability reporting.
