Baker Tilly joins forces with Dr. Carlos Mack, an experienced advisor in the area of operational restructuring, with a particular focus on management consulting and interim management.

The international consulting and auditing firm Baker Tilly is expanding its team in the area of insolvency law and restructuring. Experienced restructuring consultant and attorney Dr. Carlos Mack joined the practice group, as an Of Counsel, on October 1, 2025.

Mack has more than 35 years of experience in the area of insolvency and restructuring. The legal professional, who holds a doctorate and is a specialist in insolvency and restructuring law, specializes in operational restructuring consulting. He is regularly appointed as debtor-in-possession (Chapter 11 proceedings in the US), joint representative for bond debt restructuring, and chief restructuring officer (CRO) for companies in special situations.

“We are delighted to welcome Carlos Mack, a renowned restructuring expert, for Baker Tilly. His extensive experience in operational restructuring further rounds off our service portfolio,” says Dr. Alexander Fridgen, partner in the insolvency law and restructuring department at Baker Tilly.

Mack's most prominent clients in recent years include the insolvent co-working provider WeWork Inc. (Managing Director Europe, in Chapter 11 proceedings), SolarWorld AG (Managing Director of a Luxembourg subsidiary), business travel management provider CWT (Managing Director Frankfurt and DACH, in Chapter 11 proceedings) and subsidiaries of the former Kirch Media Group (insolvency administrator for several media companies).

Mack was previously a partner at the law firms Brinkmann & Partner and White&Case LLP. In addition to being admitted to the bar and holding the title of specialist lawyer for insolvency and restructuring law in Germany, Mack is also a licensed lawyer in Italy (Avvocato). The German-British lawyer is also recognized as a European Lawyer at Lincoln's Inn in London.

Since 2013, Mack has been an honorary professor at Corvinus University in Budapest. He received his doctorate in law in 1993 from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich (LMU) under international law expert and ICJ judge Bruno Simma. He also holds a master's degree in international politics and philosophy from LMU.

With this cooperation, Baker Tilly is further expanding its range of services for companies in special situations. In January, the international consulting and auditing firm appointed another partner in the field of insolvency law and restructuring, Florian Bandrack LL.M. corp. restruc.

“I am very much looking forward to my new role and working with my colleagues at Baker Tilly. My focus as a CRO and interim manager and Baker Tilly's strong expertise in insolvency administration and consulting complement each other perfectly,” says Dr. Carlos Mack.
