Baker Tilly's interdisciplinary team supports sustainable transaction in the building materials sector

The international consulting and auditing firm Baker Tilly successfully advised SCHWENK Baustoffgruppe on the acquisition of parts of the FISCHER Weilheim Group, a leading provider of sustainable building material solutions. Through this partnership, the family-owned company SCHWENK strengthens its portfolio of resource-efficient products while simultaneously expanding its regional presence.

An interdisciplinary team from Baker Tilly provided comprehensive support to SCHWENK throughout the buyer-side transaction. Overall project responsibility, financial due diligence, and financial advisory on purchase agreement structures and pricing were led by Stefan Greger, CVA (Partner). Together with Nicolas von Westberg (Director), Grace Bejarano (Consultant), and Matei Hristov (Consultant) (all Financial Due Diligence), as well as Max Bracht (Senior Manager) and Sebastian Langen (Senior Consultant) (both Valuation), he managed the financial aspects of the transaction.

“This transaction is an outstanding example of sustainable entrepreneurship in a changing market environment,” says Stefan Greger, responsible partner at Baker Tilly. “The trusting collaboration with SCHWENK and the strong strategic fit with the FISCHER Weilheim Group shaped the entire process.”

Tax due diligence and the structuring of the transaction documentation were handled by the team led by Uwe Roth (Partner, Tax Advisor), supported by Stefan Lehner (Director, Tax Advisor) and Marcus Cullefors (Manager, Attorney-at-Law).

“We are pleased that our tax and business expertise, combined with our interdisciplinary teams, enabled us to make a significant contribution to this successful transaction,” says Uwe Roth, Partner at Baker Tilly.

Legal advice related to public funding was provided by attorney Heinrich Thiele.

With this partnership, SCHWENK continues to pursue its strategic focus on sustainable building material solutions and innovative technologies. For the FISCHER Weilheim Group, the collaboration with SCHWENK opens up opportunities for further growth in a dynamic market environment.
