Three Acquisitions: Baker Tilly Advises Sereni Deutschland GmbH on Expansion

The international consulting and auditing firm Baker Tilly advised Sereni Deutschland GmbH (“Sereni”), a nationwide network of funeral homes, on three acquisitions in the funeral industry. The transactions include the acquisition of “Die Bestatterfamilie,” G+R Bestattungstransporte und Service (“G+R”), and the Auenwald Crematorium (Kissing Crematorium).

With these acquisitions, Sereni is expanding its network of established funeral service providers and further broadening its service portfolio within the funeral industry.

Transactions at a Glance

With the acquisition of “Die Bestatterfamilie,” Sereni gains an established platform for business succession in the funeral industry. Die Bestatterfamilie supports funeral homes in developing long-term succession plans and ensuring the continuity of their operations.

With G+R, Sereni is expanding its network to include a specialized provider of funeral transportation and related services. The company offers local, national, and international repatriation services as well as other funeral-related services.

With the Krematorium am Auenwald, Sereni is expanding its service portfolio to include a modern provider of cremation services while simultaneously strengthening vertical integration within its network.

Baker Tilly supported all three transactions with financial due diligence. The engagements were managed by Florian Corzilius, CFA (Director) and Julian Mair (Manager). For the acquisition of the Auenwald Crematorium, the team was joined by Philipp Schmitt (Consultant).

The three acquisitions underscore the ongoing expansion of the Sereni network. By bringing together established funeral homes and specialized service providers, Sereni aims to support its partners in their long-term development and alleviate their operational burden through centralized structures.
