Baker Tilly Strengthens Corporate and M&A Practice with Christian Ostermöller

Baker Tilly is strengthening its advisory capabilities in Corporate/M&A and Commercial at its Frankfurt office: effective 1 September 2026, Attorney-at-Law (Rechtsanwalt) Christian Ostermöller joins the international advisory and audit firm as a partner. Together with partner Hui Zhao, who has been with Baker Tilly since 1 July 2026, he also reinforces the legal advisory services of the multidisciplinary firm’s China Desk. The Zhao/Ostermöller team will work closely with partners Yan Zhang and Xiaolun Heijenga at Baker Tilly’s Frankfurt office.

Christian Ostermöller advises domestic and international clients on M&A transactions, reorganisations and other corporate law matters, as well as contractual and strategic issues. A particular focus of his practice is advising Chinese companies on transactions in Germany and Europe—a practice area he has continuously built and expanded together with Hui Zhao, with whom he has worked since 2017. He brings deep expertise particularly in automotive, life sciences and biogas.

With recent additions, including the integration of the tax boutique FAM Tax GmbH, Baker Tilly’s China Desk has grown to more than 20 legal and tax professionals, making it one of the largest advisory practices serving Chinese companies in Germany.

Before joining Baker Tilly, Ostermöller was a partner at Eversheds Sutherland, where he headed the Strategic Contracts practice in Frankfurt. He previously served at King & Wood Mallesons, first as counsel and from 2023 as partner in the Corporate Department, where he led the development of the Commercial practice group. Ostermöller is a certified specialist in commercial and corporate law.
