sidion GmbH has successfully completed its restructuring within the framework of self-administration proceedings (debtor-in-possession proceedings under German insolvency law). With the support of the international advisory and auditing firm Baker Tilly, a going-concern solution was achieved.

sidion GmbH, an IT consulting company based in Stuttgart, has successfully concluded a restructuring under self-administration (debtor-in-possession) proceedings. Based on the insolvency plan unanimously approved by the creditors, Managing Directors René Sutorius and Nicolai Ding have acquired the shares of the IT service provider and will continue to operate the company. All existing jobs have been preserved. The competent insolvency court ordered the termination of the insolvency proceedings on November 21.

“It has been possible to successfully guide sidion GmbH out of insolvency proceedings. This is good news for the approximately 50 employees at the three locations in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, and Munich, as well as for the company’s customers, service providers, and creditors. I would like to thank the court-appointed custodian (Sachwalter), Dr. Norman Häring, as well as the restructuring advisors from DTE for the excellent cooperation. Special thanks also go to the employees who remained loyal to sidion during the proceedings,” said General Representative Florian Bandrack, attorney-at-law and partner at the international advisory and auditing firm Baker Tilly.

The custodian is also satisfied with the outcome of the proceedings: “This case demonstrates that early-initiated and professionally managed self-administration (debtor-in-possession) proceedings can sustainably stabilize a company and safeguard jobs,” said Dr. Häring.

sidion GmbH had encountered financial difficulties in 2024 due to declining revenues and insufficient capacity utilization. In February 2025, the Local Court of Stuttgart opened insolvency proceedings in self-administration (debtor-in-possession) at the company’s request.
