Baker Tilly advises Irish Life Infestment Managers and Averdeen on the purchase of a logistics hall

Baker Tilly provided comprehensive legal advice to Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM) and Aberdeen Investments on the acquisition of a logistics property near Düsseldorf.

Düsseldorf/Frankfurt, June 10, 2025 – The international consulting firm Baker Tilly has advised Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM) and Aberdeen Investments on the acquisition of a logistics property of around 21,600 square meters in Nettetal, North Rhine-Westphalia.

A team led by Baker Tilly partners Dr. Hendrik Theismann and Michael Mehler provided the buyers with comprehensive legal advice as part of the transaction. This is the second acquisition on which the Baker Tilly team has advised Aberdeen Investments and ILIM.

The property was developed as part of a brownfield revitalization in the Herrenpfad-Süd industrial estate and was part of the Verdion European Logistics Fund 1 (VELF 1). The fossil-free building meets the KfW energy-efficient house 40 standard, has been awarded the DGNB Gold certificate and is prepared for a photovoltaic system and e-charging stations.

The space comprises around 18,600 square meters of hall space, around 2,000 square meters of mezzanine space and around 1,000 square meters of office and social areas. Even before completion in 2023, the property has been let on a long-term lease to the logistics service provider Advanced Supply Chain (ASC), a Reconomy Group company.

For ILIM and Aberdeen Investment, the acquisition represents a further milestone in the expansion of its German portfolio. The acquisition of the core property in Nettetal is a targeted expansion of both investors’ commitment in the ESG-compliant logistics segment.
