Baker Tilly advised FUNKE Mediengruppe on acquisition of social recruiting company everbay.

The international consulting firm Baker Tilly supported FUNKE Mediengruppe in its acquisition of Munich-based recruiting expert everbay with financial due diligence, tax due diligence, and SPA consulting.
Baker Tilly partner Nils Klamar was the partner in charge for the transaction and was responsible for financial due diligence and SPA consulting. He was supported by Daniel Zeiß (director) and Felix Ptok (manager). The tax due diligence was conducted by Uwe Roth (partner) together with Christiane Krüger (director).

The successful completion of the transaction underscores the close and interdisciplinary cooperation between the Baker Tilly teams from various disciplines.

With the complete acquisition of the start-up, FUNKE Mediengruppe is further expanding its expertise in the HR tech sector. everbay was established in Munich in 2020 and offers an AI-supported recruiting platform that digitally transforms the entire recruitment process, particularly in labor-intensive industries—from target group analysis and social media campaigns to conducting interviews. With this acquisition, FUNKE is taking another step toward offering comprehensive, Germany-wide HR services for corporate customers.
The acquisition will be completed with retroactive effect from the beginning of the year. With the acquisition, the ten-member team will transfer to FUNKE. The three founders will remain on board as managing directors, and the brand will continue to be managed independently.
