Sonnenwelt GmbH, a provider of rooftop photovoltaic systems including electricity storage systems and cloud solutions, has filed for insolvency. Baker Tilly partner Dr. Alexander Fridgen has been appointed as provisional insolvency administrator by the Munich Local Court.

Sonnenwelt GmbH has been marketing and installing photovoltaic systems including electricity storage systems for owners of single-family homes and commercial customers since 2019. The company has already successfully installed over 2,000 systems since its formation. The regional focus of installations is on Bavaria and the Rhineland.

“After filing for insolvency, we have now stabilized ongoing business operations with around 40 employees, the employees’ wages have been secured so far and the review of which orders can continue to be processed is almost complete. We are therefore confident that we will be able to satisfactorily serve the numerous existing customers and complete the installation of the ordered PV systems,” says Dr. Alexander Fridgen.

The parties strive to find an investor for Sonnenwelt GmbH in the near future which will enable the company to maintain its well-established acquisition and production structure.
