Baker Tilly advises Capreolos GmbH on seed financing round

The international consulting firm Baker Tilly has provided legal and tax advice to the Hessian e-health start-up Capreolos GmbH on a seed financing round. The financing round’s total volume amounts to a high six-digit euro sum. In addition to bmh Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen mbH as lead investor, two business angels and numerous existing investors participated in the financing round.
The Baker Tilly team, headed by project manager Alexander F. Liebing (Senior Manager, Corporate Law, Leipzig), provided comprehensive legal and tax advice on the investment with a focus on corporate law. Sven Vollstädt (Partner, Corporate Law, Leipzig) and Piet Werner (Director, Tax, Leipzig) were also involved. Baker Tilly already provided Capreolos with legal and tax advice on the pre-seed financing round at the end of 2021.
The Prehab app developed by Capreolos is intended to enable patients to prepare safely at home before major surgical procedures. This is achieved through a prehabilitation program individually tailored to each patient. The attending physician collects risk data on the basis of which a tailored prehabilitation program is automatically calculated and transferred to the patient’s smartphone. Together with a smartwatch provided, patients train at home for at least three weeks, receive nutritional and mental support and receive direct feedback on adherence. So-called Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO), the patient’s involvement in the treatment concept, together with automated safety checks, are intended to ensure the highest possible reliability. The results of an initial pilot study with 393 participants at Frankfurt University Hospital were extremely successful. The next step is now to test PROs under controlled conditions for their final purpose.
