Baker Tilly provided the Audi start-up holoride GmbH with legal and tax advice within the scope of a Series A financing round.
Leipzig / Munich, April 23, 2021 – The international consulting firm Baker Tilly provided the Audi start-up holoride GmbH with legal and tax advice within the scope of a Series A financing round with a two-digit million amount. In 2018, Baker Tilly had already advised holoride GmbH’s founders, the former Audi managers Nils Wollny, Marcus Kühne and Daniel Profendiner within the scope of the company’s establishment.
The consulting services of the team headed by our Partner Sven Vollstädt, Attorney-at-Law (corporate law) mainly comprised the development of contract documents and negotiations with the investors. Besides Vollstädt, the following persons were part of the legal consulting team: Partner Dr. Christian Engelhardt, Attorney-at-Law (IP/IT), Senior Manager Patricia E. Bramowski, Attorney-at-Law (corporate law), Marco Stahn, Attorney-at-Law (labor law), Manager Alexander F. Liebing, LL.M. (corporate law) and Manager Daniela Konle, Attorney-at-Law (corporate law). The tax consulting team comprised Partner Mario Hesse, Tax Advisor / German CPA (tax), Partner Christian Wegener, Tax Advisor (tax, insurance) and Senior Manager Piet Werner, Tax Advisor (tax).
The financing round was headed by Terranet AB, a developer of advanced assisted driving software. Further co-investors are a group of Chinese financial and automotive investors, orchestrated by Jingjing Xu, an investor specialized in partnerships and go-to-market strategies for China. Such syndicate also includes Multi-Dimensional Connectivity Limited, a leading investor in the automotive sector and shareholder of Aston Martin. The investor round is completed by Schell Games, the largest full-service enterprise for the development of educational and entertaining games in the United States as well as the existing shareholder Audi.
holoride is going to use the raised capital in order to advance the acquisition of talents, expand its portfolio for the developer community and strengthen its international profile while preparing for the launch next year.
