Further internationalization and integration through a common name and brand “Baker Tilly”. Global growth focus on consulting.
Düsseldorf/Hamburg, March 31, 2017 – After their merger in May 2015, Baker Tilly Roelfs and TPW Group are implementing the next step of their integration and internationalization: as of today, the firms in Germany will operate under the common name of Baker Tilly as part of the global Baker Tilly International network. While continuing to apply its existing high quality standards on transnational basis, Baker Tilly as a German, partner-managed consulting firm, will strengthen its emphasis on communicating its global presence. Taking this approach will allow the firm to meet the market’s increasing requirements for integrated, global consulting services in the sectors of auditing, legal, tax and business consulting. Growth will focus on tax structuring services and audit-related consulting both in Germany and on a global scale. Moreover, Baker Tilly now enforces the legal consulting sector’s global development and expansion from Germany.
“Our clients require coherent concepts and integrated solutions which are sustainable in particular on the international stage”, says Ralf Gröning, Co-Managing Partner of Baker Tilly in Germany and member of Baker Tilly International’s international Board of Directors: “With the change of our name, we take account of two parallel developments: first, the sector’s increasing internationalization and our client’s growing demand for global solutions and, second, the merger of Baker Tilly Roelfs and TPW through the new name of Baker Tilly. We believe that it is the right time to present ourselves together as German representative of our global Baker Tilly International network – with one local German central point of contact in for our clients and with access to experts in 147 countries worldwide.”
TPW Group adapts Baker Tilly brand
For eleven of the German Baker Tilly offices, the change of name is not going to significantly affect their external appearance as the corporate design will be retained unchanged according to Baker Tilly global requirements. For TPW Group in Hamburg, which is going to adapt Baker Tilly’s global corporate design, this step allows a broader client approach both in terms of geographical coverage and in terms of know-how. “Our common presence as Baker Tilly will naturally address new client groups and tap into new consulting sectors. As part of a strong global association, we will have an increased potential both on a national and an international level, thereby setting the course for a successful future”, says Gröning.
Baker Tilly Europe Alliance, personnel change and expansion of the legal consulting sector
Besides the new name in Germany, there are also several positive developments on an international level: the end of last year marked the successful launch of Baker Tilly Europe Alliance. Baker Tilly together with TPA Group is now represented with more than 2,000 employees in 39 offices and twelve countries within Central and South-East Europe, all of which have their own German desk.
Oliver Hubertus, attorney-at-law and tax advisor, who is a partner and Head of Tax of Baker Tilly in Germany, will succeed Ralf Gröning as member of the EMEA Advisory Board. Gröning will remain in the international Board of Directors thereby directly influencing the Baker Tilly network’s global development. Under the responsibility of Dr. Thomas Gemmeke, attorney-at-law, who is a partner in the Munich office and head of Baker Tilly’s legal sector in Germany, the companycontinues to develop and expand its legal consulting activities within the network on a global level
