The financing comprises equity and debt capital. In addition to existing investors, such as the founders of FlixBus, new investors are also participating in FreewayCamper. The investor group is led by the Czech VC investor Rockaway Ventures as lead investor. In addition, Bridge to Growth from Berlin is providing venture debt financing to FreewayCamper. With the funds from the financing round, FreewayCamper aims to expand into further European countries and further develops the already established partner concept.
The consulting services of the team around Baker Tilly Managing Partner Dr. Thomas Gemmeke, Attorney-at-Law, mainly comprised the preparation and negotiation of the contract documentation. Manager Daniela Konle, Attorney-at-Law/LL.M. (Venture Capital) and Director Sebastian Wolff, Attorney-at-Law, (Financing) also played a key role in the engagement.
The founding couple Nikolai Voitiouk-Blum and Julia Blum’s start-up offers a digital platform for renting campers of any equipment and size. By now, the start-up’s network of rental stations has grown to over 20 stations in Germany and six foreign locations.
FreewayCamper rents out camping vehicles through its own digital platform, where the vehicles can be booked directly. For this purpose, a wide selection of VW buses, campers, campervans and motorhomes is available at locations in Germany, Poland, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.
