Munich/San Francisco, August 12, 2021 – The international advisory firm Baker Tilly has provided legal and tax advice to the American market-leading online vintage furniture marketplace Chairish on its acquisition of European counterpart Pamono and the re-investment of the sellers in Chairish. Chairish is steadily growing and, as a result of the takeover, has now also entered the European market.
The advisory services provided by Baker Tilly's Competence Center Transactions mainly consisted of legal and tax due diligence, consulting on corporate law and tax aspects of the transaction as well as drafting and negotiating of the purchase agreement as along with all other transaction related documentation. The advisory team led by Munich partners Dr. Jörg Maitzen (Attorney-at-Law, Corporate/M&A) and Uwe Roth (Certified Tax Advisor, Tax) was complemented by Manager Daniela Konle (Attorney-at-Law, Corporate/M&A), Senior Manager Stephanie Breitenbach (Attorney-at-Law, Labor Law) and Senior Manager Viviane Därr (Certified Tax Advisor, Tax).
The Corona pandemic caused a boost for online vintage furniture platforms. Chairish was prepared for this and was able to record a significant growth spurt. Chairish now uses this momentum for the European market entry. The acquisition of Pamono, the largest European marketplace for vintage furniture and art with over 2,000 galleries, is the logical next step.
